Why Origin?

Jim, a publisher of sailing books, had always dreamed of a house on a lake. With the perfect location secured at auction, the homeowner wanted to ensure the design of the home matched its surroundings. Liaising with architects to bring his vision to life, Jim knew he wanted to create, a light, bright and modern space, with the view as it’s vocal point. With plans to install multiple sets of Bi-folds and a large gable to perfectly frame the view, he needed good quality products, he trusted, to be the star of his new build. With a large job on his hands, the homeowner was after an established brand that he could trust to get the job done. After visiting Panoramic Architectural Glazing’s showroom, he fell in love with the look and quality of the products. However, what really sealed the deal was Origins fast lead times. Since already falling behind by a year on this project, Jim was keen to keep the ball rolling and having a supplier with the ability to deliver so quickly, meant we were the perfect people for the job.

A bit about the project…

This project wasn’t a small job, since this had been a dream of the homeowners for so long, his plans to completely tear down the original  1970’s structure and re-build from scratch, were ambitious. Having already been turned down by one architect, Jim knew this project would be a challenge. With dreams of the home being mostly glass, to frame the stunning lake view, he had to battle several structural challenges. After finding Origin, and falling in love with the quality of our solid aluminium frames, we were chosen for the project. Featuring our OB-72 Bi-folds and OW-80 Windows and Gable, all in Slate grey (RAL 7015M), our products transformed this property into the perfect modern lake house.

The outcome…

Now this property is the epitome of modern, open plan living, featuring multiple balcony’s and large open spaces, every inch of this house now benefits from that gorgeous lake view. Jim has described this property as the perfect hosting home, it was designed for drinks on the balcony, both inside and out, so that no matter the weather, you were always overlooking the lake. The homeowner couldn’t be more happy with the finished project, and has continued to recommend the Origin products to his family, friends and visitors.
